Robby and I have decided to enroll Ireland into a distance learning school this year. It's called Lighthouse Christian Academy and it's a part of Ace Ministries. LCA is based in Nashville, TN (only about 6ish hours from us). She'll be doing PACEs (self-instructional workbooks) combined with some computer work, but we will also add other studies to that as we see fit. Some cool things about enrolling Irie into LCA is that she'll be getting regular report cards, we'll have an academic adviser (who oversees her education and helps us with anything we need), diagnostic testing is included so she will be placed exactly where she needs to be, and if we stay with LCA throughout high school, she can walk in a graduation ceremony with her "classmates" over in Nashville! I'm really hoping we will both love this style of learning and that it works out well for her. I feel like we need a little more structure, especially after Amos' arrival. Things have been so chaotic and they're not slowing down!
A side curriculum that Robby and I will be adding to Ireland's regular schooling is Polished Cornerstones: Projects for Daughters on the Path to Womanhood. I recently came upon it online and I am SO excited to use it! It's all about raising young girls to be hard-working women of God whose main objective is to live out God's calling on their lives. I do not believe in feminism and I plan to raise my daughter to be a humble, honest, giving lady who puts her future calling into God's hands and not her own. Unfortunately, that's a radical type of thinking these days.
It's going to be a great school year, I just know it!
