I Curse the Sickies.

It's been a tough past several days for this redheaded bunch. We've all had the sickies; Robby with a medium cold, mama with a horrific full-blown head cold, and both kids are getting over Croup. Not fun in the least. Honestly, it's been close to misery. But we're all getting better (I'm beginning to be able to breathe again!) and are perking back up. My pregnancy symptoms are also far better than before. I can't be thankful enough.

This week the kids and I are looking forward to a visit from Calley, Josiah, Isaac, and Amaus. They're driving up and are planning to spend Friday with us and we're so excited! We haven't had the opportunity to see them since July, when we spent a few days in Louisiana at their house, and we've missed them very much. And now there's a new addition to the Reed family and we get to meet baby Amaus for the very first time! I sure have a lot of cleaning to do before the end of the week. ;-) Also, my mom (aka Nana) is planning to come out for a visit from Mississippi sometime in the next week or two. She plans to stay for 2-3 weeks. We always love when Nana comes.

Recently Robby and I began brainstorming for our annual family vacation. We want to go somewhere new this year and I, for one, have been hankerin' to get back to the Caribbean... so we've come up with a good middle ground: Florida! Robby frequented Pensacola on many a family vacation while growing up and is very fond of the place. We totaled the driving time up to about 9 hours, give or take a bit. I'm really looking forward to relaxing on the beach, letting the kids run and play, eating fresh seafood, and exploring the town. We're also planning to have my sister (aka Aunt Coco) and my mom come along with us. We'll need to book a beach house or condo very soon because we're looking to go sometime in early to mid May. I'll post more on that after plans are finalized.

  1. Every single time I hear "Pensacola" it reminds me of that movie Contact. That one with Jodie Foster. Have you seen it? They say the word "Pensacola" like 22 times.

  2. Thanks. We're planning on moving to the area where our church is- about 20 minutes from here. We moved in here in May (I'm sure you recall) and the house is freaking HUGE. Which we love, and it's our dream home, but it's just too much right now- financially as well as for this housekeeper. So I am so sad about leaving (we have never loved a home more in our lives) but looking forward to being closer to church and friends since we're over there several times a week. Unfortunately any house will just be a step down since this one is perfect. ;)

But yeah, it sucks to move. Again.
