We got a call from the adoption agency today welcoming us into the Uganda program! So it is OFFICIAL! We chatted with the lady overseeing our adoption via conference call (Robby was at work) and discussed what all we should expect in the coming months, as well as the next three steps we need to take in the process. Those steps are to be taken in the following order:
1) We need to read through the documents emailed to us via our agency, sign and return a contract, forms, etc, etc.
2) Find and choose a local home study agency and set up an appointment with them to begin being interviewed in the near future (yikes!).
3) Make preparations to pay our next invoice of $1875.00, which is due
So it looks as though we will be in much prayer over which agency to choose, prepping for the multiple interviews, and contemplating fundraisers to pay the fees due. We have some money put back already, but not nearly enough to cover the $25k-$30k adoption process entirely. We will be saving as much as possible (even on our upcoming- and already paid for- vacation to Mexico) in the coming year to keep things rolling in a timely manner. What we care about is bringing our son or daughter home and into this family as quickly as we can. I am so happy and I feel so blessed to be able to welcome an African child into our family. The kids are excited (especially Ireland), mine and my husband's heart is in this 100%, and my family members are already in prayer for us. I couldn't ask for more!
