We had a wonderful Christmas Day. I read the story of Jesus' birth to the kids, we sang him "Happy Birthday" and a blew out a candle in a cupcake, and then we opened presents. Everyone was pleased with their gifts. And I must say that Robby did especially good on mine. Talk about impressed! Later that evening we had Courtney and her boyfriend Mike come over for supper. Robby smoked a turkey, I made cornbread dressing (YUM), salad, homemade bread, and Courtney brought over green bean casserole. We ate, played a couple of board games that Courtney gifted to Robby and I, and we had a good ole time. Very low key and relaxed, which we truly appreciate now that we have three kids!
We're back into the swing of homeschooling and getting used to Daddy having normal work weeks again. All of that time off was good while it lasted! His walking through the door in the evenings is definitely the highlight of our days around here. We love that man. Anyway, I have to ask, is it terrible of me that it's now January 7th and I have yet to take down the Christmas decorations? I plan to accomplish that this weekend, but I've got to admit that I'm tired of having all of this holiday stuff up. Looking forward to my normal decor once again.
Lately we have been making arrangements for our annual Spring vacation. This year we've decided to head back to Perdido Key, Florida because it was such a huge hit last year. But this time we're going with our good friends Allison, Wesley, and their daughter Olivia. This weekend I will be reserving the 3 bedroom 2 bath, gulf front condo we will all share for one full week during the month of May. We are all chomping at the bits to go because we know we'll have such a fabulous time together! Too bad it's 4 months away. After our last trip to Perdido Key, Ireland and Jasper are so in love with Florida and the beach. All this time later (8 months) they still talk about what a blast they had making sand castles, swimming, go
Sounds awesome! I know ya'll will have so much fun at the beach! Danny coming home is also the highlight of our day! :) We just got back to schooling this week too. Although, I don't feel like I am on the ball. Maybe I have to work my way back into the regular routine. Can't seem to WAKE UP! I love ya'll!
