Christmas is just around the corner! Ireland has been counting down the days 'til "Jesus' birthday" on a little Christmas calendar I bought this year at Target. She makes sure to do it every single day. Speaking of my girl, she hasn't been feeling well. She was running a bit of a fever today, although she has no other symptoms. I allowed her to keep the fever so that her body can properly fight off the sickies, however I'm keeping an eye on it. She went to bed early tonight by her own choice. That definitely means something isn't sitting well with her. Her brother, on the other hand, seems to be doing just fine.
I am almost finished wrapping gifts. I do love to wrap, however I can only handle a couple hours of it at a time. My back does have it's limits, even at the ripe old age of 25. The four of us will be making our Christmas baskets very soon and I'm anxious to see how they'll turn out (hopefully better than last year's...).
Robby had his school finals today and now he's on break for a couple of weeks. He is SO relieved. As am I. Between preparing to start his new job at Windstream on Monday, band practice every Saturday, church on Sunday mornings, school, and keeping up with his family, he is exhausted. But he's oh so good at what he does at the same time. :)
Speaking of school, I am once again an active student Birth Doula! This time I am training with Childbirth International, as it is a better fit for my family and I than the previous birth organization I worked with. I am really looking forward to becoming certified and assisting women in obtaining the childbirths they desire. I snagged my second ever client earlier this evening! She's a new friend of mine who goes to Brand New Church (BNC) with me and is 25 weeks pregnant. Working with her will not only help me learn more as a student, but will also go toward my required quota of births attended to receive my certification. I'm excited!
It's late. I'd better hit the hay.

So I wanna know why you are training with someone else, to become a doula? That is so cool that you already have a client. BTW- I love this pic of the 4 of you! How cute!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to explain my reasoning for switching doula schools privately.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photo compliment!
