Holiday Baking

Robby and I have been busy with our Christmas gift baskets over the last couple of days. For the past two years we've given homemade goods as presents to family and friends instead of buying something at the store for each individual. This year we're making lots of baked, candied, and chocolate-covered goodies! Yum! Today especially we have been busy with that. By the time I'm finished with my jobs I'll have made:

* 30 miniature snowflake cakes
* 10 cupcakes in jars
* 1 mini bundt cake for Jesus' birthday party (!)
* 2 batches of cookies
* 4 one pound loaves of bread
* 75 chocolate-covered graham crackers and pretzels

Whew! Talk about a lot of work (and that's not even including basket assembly!). But I do enjoy it and Robby and I both adore seeing the looks of appreciation on the faces of loved ones once it's all completed and handed over. Homemade gifts really are the best. :)

  1. Wow! Did you make the baked goods in that pic? I love baked goods for gifts too! Most people have and get everything they want- so I think it shows lot of heart to give something that you made. You gave the person your time- and they get to enjoy it too! It means so much more!

  2. No I didn't bake the stuff in that picture... it's a random Google image that I posted because it goes along with my entry. :)

    I miss you.
