In the Garden

We had a very productive weekend! On Saturday morning, Ireland played in a Soccer game in Little Rock. Afterward, we picked up lots of items at Lowe's to take home to plant. Then we attended a local Easter egg hunt at a church nearby where the kids had tons of fun. Amos won a door prize (tons of candy), the kids hunted down plenty of eggs, we enjoyed a little petting zoo of animals, and Ireland and Jasper took advantage of the giant inflatables provided for the children. We then returned home to get our gardening on! Irie and I planted flower seeds in my bed out front (where, surprisingly, some pretty pink blossoms popped back up from last year when I was certain they'd died) and Robby graciously planted my much anticipated two Rose bushes (to accompany the other three already on our property) and beautiful May Night Salvia blooms along the front of the porch. I adore them already!

I then planted several vegetable plants: tomatoes, okra, squash, bell peppers, zucchini, etc while Robby plopped down our second attempt at a Blueberry bush (our dog Lily dug up our last one). I cannot wait to reap the harvest this Summer. :) All in all, it was a really good day.

On Sunday we attended BNC, as normal, but were thrilled to see many new faces. It was a fantastic service and Shannon (our pastor) had me boo hooing more than once with his message. God is so amazing. After church we met my family (my sister and her husband, my dad and step-mom, step-sister, grandparents, etc.) at a restaurant in town and had a wonderful lunch. We then headed home where Amos and I took a restful siesta (thanks honey!) and Robby and the older kids worked on building the chicken coop. They did a fantastic job on it and are almost finished! Our chickens have grown so much during the last 3 weeks. Hopefully just one more week and they'll be ready to head out to their new little living quarters. I am definitely looking forward to not buying grocery store eggs any longer!

I'm 31.5 weeks pregnant and getting very excited about meeting this little baby. Amos pulls up my shirt and kisses my belly all the time and it's the sweetest thing you've ever seen. :) And just yesterday, I overheard Jasper telling Ireland in the kitchen, "Sissy, you have to be quiet because there's a baby in Mama's belly and it's sleeping!" It's really beginning to sink in around here that very soon we'll have a brand new family member. There's plenty to be done before the big arrival, however I think mentally we're already prepared. I guess being on your fourth child will do that to ya. ;) I am prepping for another comfortable homebirth and expectant that it will go beautifully once again. All glory be to God Almighty.
