This past Sunday, July 8th, was my sweet baby Lincoln's 1st birthday. It was especially emotional for me somehow. More so than usual. I am having a very hard time comprehending that my youngest child has made it to the 1 year mark already. It seemed to happen at lighting speed this go around. Even Robby was completely caught off guard.
Lincoln is THE sweetest, happiest, and most contented child I have mothered thus far. He is always smiling, always full of contagious joy. He makes life bright and cheerful. And he brings me such pleasure. Even getting him out of his crib after a nap, he and I both squeal at one another and greet the other as though it's been days! He loves his older siblings, especially Ireland, and has absolutely fit right into our family from the start. It's as though he always was.
Just like with each of my other children, I know that the Lord has a very special plan for Lincoln's life. I can easily sense that. And I'm excited to see how it all unfolds.
Lincoln Carrick, you have brought a priceless, inexpressible piece of life to me that I'd never possessed before you came into this world. You are my treasured son and I take utter delight in you. I will love you always.
