Vacation, Courtney's Wedding, and Adoption updates.

Wow, has it really been over a month since I last updated? Sheesh, time flies when you're CRAZY busy!

My mom was recently here visiting for 6 weeks. She kept Ireland and Jasper while Robby, Amos, and I went to Mexico on a week-long vacation. The trip was fun, but somewhat stressful as well. Amos was very unhappy with our decision to leave home, sleep in a foreign place, and be away from his big brother and sister for 8 days. He made his disapproval of this very loud and clear on a daily basis. But despite Mr. Grumpy Pants, we managed to have a good time, eat lots and lots of wonderful Mexican food, and enjoy the timeless beauty of Mexico. Amos spent his 1st birthday while abroad and enjoyed a cake all to himself (okay, not ALL to himself) at a restaurant in the evening. This is a special memory for Robby and I- one that will indefinitely go down in his baby book!

My big sister Courtney was married last Saturday evening to her fiance Mike in downtown Little Rock. It was pure chaos leading up to the wedding, with all of the planning, running around, and last minute projects and to-dos. But allow me to say that it was the coolest, funnest, most creatively inspiring wedding I have ever seen! EVERYONE kept commenting to me, "This wedding is so FUN!" Everything was Mexican themed; the ceremony was unique and beautiful and the reception was like a gigantic party with catered authentic Mexican food, pies galore, a gorgeous Mexican wedding cake made by my very talented friend Tanya, and plenty of music and dancing. Oh my, the dancing! What a party y'all! I can't imagine something cooler than what they put together. I was happy to reunite with several family members that I hadn't seen in years, but to whom I was extremely close to growing up. We all clung together and had the most fabulous time! After the wedding, a select group of us were treated to a long, crazy, loud, and cheerful ride around downtown Little Rock in a huge Hummer limo! It was absolutely fabulous! Courtney and Mike totally outdid themselves and created memories for everyone to look back on with big smiles. Myself included.

The adoption process is coming along slowly, but surely. We have completed one of four interviews with our home study social worker and have our second interview scheduled for next Thursday evening. A big reason for the delay is because she was out of the country for three weeks recently. But something else has very recently popped up out of the blue that is going to cause the process to slow down even more. Everything is just fine and dandy, though, and we know it'll all work out in the end. God has a plan and we're 100% on board with Him! More on this as the details come forth.

It's finally Autumn and we're so happy for this season every year. The windows are open, the breeze is blowing, and the kids (minus Amos) are playing outside. I should bake a pie or something, right? ;) Ahhh, life is made of good stuff.
